Once upon a time the scruffy, the dowdy, the uncultured, the old, the coloureds, the foreigners, the queers, the foreign language speakers, the sick, the cripples, the poor, the illiterate, the waifs and strays, they all knew their station. You didn't have to respect people's worthless traditions and faith; you could tell others at work about them, too. You could keep them in their place; you didn't have to mix with them. You could tell stroppy customers where to go, bully your suppliers and give two fingers to busybody do-gooders. Whatever happened to the time-honoured unfettered discrimination practices?
What? Did I say something wrong? Who's pulling on my sleeve... Omigod! Am I on record? Stop. STOP!
